Insulated containers or insulated boxes and thermal containers made of expanded polypropylene (EPP) offer particularly high durability, are elastic, impact-resistant, and fully recyclable, making them ideal for repeated use in professional food transport.
They cover the temperature range from -40°C to +120°C and are dishwasher-safe, ensuring the highest hygiene standards. EPP thermal boxes are generally water-repellent but not completely waterproof.
Factors such as material quality, ambient temperature, initial temperature of the food, and the use of cooling or heating elements influence the duration for which food can be kept warm or cold.
EPS boxes are made of expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam), which provides good insulation but is less durable than EPP, yet offers a cost-effective alternative with very good insulation properties, especially for single-use or short-term applications.
