Successful Through Changing Times
The origins of the Schlaadt Company Group date back to 1904, when Georg Stephan Schlaadt founded a timber trade in the Loreley town of St. Goarshausen. He combined spruce wood from the Taunus region into rafts, which then began their journey on the Rhine.
In the 1950s – the rafts having since become obsolete – the company successfully adapted to changing market conditions and, under the leadership of the second generation, transformed into a parquet manufacturer. A visible sign of this expansion course was the relocation in 1959 to a 70,000 sqm site in Lorch am Rhein.
Just one year later, Schlaadt laid the foundation for the future as one of the first companies to acquire the license for the manufacturing of Styropor®. The plastic held enormous potential that the third-generation managing directors, Theo and Hermann Schlaadt, knew how to harness.
Since Styrofoam® was introduced, we have played a decisive role in shaping the development of packaging and functional parts made from particle foams through a wealth of innovative ideas. Our material range has since been expanded to include additional plastics such as EPP, Neopor®, or copolymers, which reach our customers as molded parts or cut-to-size pieces.
Thus, we daily demonstrate our expertise in particle foams when it comes to solutions for “Packaging – Protecting – Insulating”.
Schlaadt is a solidly grown group of specialized, mutually complementary companies. At 4 national production sites and one location in the USA, over 300 employees work daily to provide innovative solutions for satisfied customers.
At its headquarters in Lorch, Schlaadt processes Styropor® (EPS), EPP, Neopor®, and copolymers. Additionally, the Development and Innovation Center, Schlaadt Recycling, and a cutting facility are located here.
Schlaadt HighCut in Mülheim is the competent contact for cut-to-size and contoured parts made from particle foams. On high-precision systems, rigid foam blocks from our own production are shaped into individual customer solutions – flexibly, reliably, quickly.
With Schlaadt GFH in Bretzfeld-Bitzfeld and Dillingen/Donau, Schlaadt maintains two locations in the south of Germany. This regional distribution ensures we are always close to the market, thereby providing short distances to the customer in every respect.
Our overseas business is based with Schlaadt Ltd in New Bern/North Carolina.
